But they are hopelessly waiting for Twitter to get their act together. Which a lot of twitter's problems could have been avoided if they used a scalable language and framework, instead of Ruby on Rails (read useless in my opinion).

I guess a twitter feed isn't going to be too handy, as it has a slight delay. Slight delay meaning I've waited five to ten minutes for my tweets to show up in my Jaikus.

That is possible, and they may not have a layout that is easily handle by screenreaders. A lot of sites still don't support the visually impaired.

Yep, it supports Yahoo, AIM, MSN, GTalk and Jabber

Jabber is just an open source IM client and server, Google Talk is based on Jabber. It's pretty cool, but it lacks some features that Yahoo and the major IM's have.

I have been wondering how to invite people also, but I don't see the problem in using multiple microblogs. I myself have a Twitter, Pownce and thanks to @steveofmaine a Jaiku account.
